Program for Head Injured Teens & Young Adults
After intensive rehabilitation, many Head-Injured teens are ready for discharge but are not ready to be reintegrated into a regular school system. Or worse, the regular school system is not ready, willing, or able to offer the proper programs and support. This is where SHOORE CENTRE can become an integral part of the Treatment Plan.

we offer Education Programs for Head-Injured Teens
Cole is delighted hearing Tammy describe
his journey to earning his High School Diploma.
We provide a comprehensive transition program focussing on retraining lost or weak learning skills & providing a quality education experience. Our growing list of alumni successfully move on to post secondary school education or return to their home school.

We are comfortable working with Rehab teams and/or Insurance adjustors. Case conferences are standard procedure at SHOORE CENTRE. Parents are vital partners in all facets of the process.

OUR Intake Process is simple & straight forward. All it takes is a phone call to set up an orientation interview. This will include a meeting with the Director, a review of the pertinent reports, a tour of the school., & a preliminary plan of the program.

OUR Programs range from 1:1 to small group instruction on a half-day or full-day basis. Some students enrol part time, (e.g., 2 one hour sessions per week).

Our unique team of experienced teachers & special educators are deeply committed to helping their students to become the best that they can be! They understand head-injury and bring patience & expertise to their craft.

Our 4 Program Strands include:

  1. Literacy & Numeracy Training
  2. Study Skills/Executive Function Skills (e.g., planning, organization, working memory)
  3. Knowledge based learning/High School Credits
  4. Attitude/Developing a Belief System (in an atmosphere of encouragement)
